Master Plan

The existing master plan was bisected by a four lane road required by VDOT. This road made it very difficult to create the type of town center amenity the Development Authority wanted.

The new plan focuses on preserving and enhancing the character of the existing cultural landscape, including the rolling landscape, rural streets, grand trees and historic structures. The plan creates a system of parks throughout Vint Hill to create value for the parcels that surround them and to enhance the lifestyle of all who come there.

Instead of one four lane road, a series of two lane roads provides a better travel flow and creates a more pedestrian friendly place. The new roads form edges to the park system. The roads converge in a new Village Green located just below the historic inn. The Village Green and a small shopping street, which leads to it, form the center of Vint Hill. A network of streets connects all the different use districts of Vint Hill. Buildings front on streets with parking behind, creating well designed streets that work for pedestrians.
