Master Plan

DesignWorks’ plan for the half-mile long entrance drive and clubhouse area evoke the graceful beach estates of the Hamptons, yet maintains the identity of the coastal Carolina sea island. The landscape design involving the streetscape and residential edges of the 18 hole Tom Fazio golf course is carefully modeled after the natural landscape and includes wetlands restoration.

The entrance was developed to emulate a rural drive approach to a country estate. The clubhouse and parking area were carefully located to preserve a natural stand of mature live oak trees, resulting in a seamless blend of new construction into the existing natural character of the site.

Several lagoons on the golf course were enhanced with native aquatic perennials to provide filtration of run off, stabilization of water edges and a beautiful display of color and textures throughout the year.
