This residence is located on the most striking lot of the McAllister Neighborhood at the Ford Plantation. The home is surrounded on three sides by breathtaking views: the marsh on the backside, McAllister Point garden overlooking the bridge and the creek on the side yard and the linear Park on the front façade.
The garden concept is in the pure tradition of a Charleston Garden with its rooms and specific functions all related to the internal layout of the house. The front Garden, narrow and formal with entry columns, brick walls, ironwork and gates, engage the visitor and leads them to the dramatic front staircase. The side garden along the double porch is composed around a fountain and raised planters and enclosed by two wooden gates. The back yard with its brick patio, outdoor fireplace, hot tub and lawn area is the area for social gathering and entertaining. The flowerbeds filled with native grasses combined with flowers and aromatic plants blends with the nearby marsh. |
